| Chartered on 5th October 1986, the Rotary Club of Madras Marina, in Rotary District 3230, is based in Chennai.
The present predominant objectives of the Club are Healthcare and Education.
The Club currently undertakes projects on an annual basis which benefit the following sections :
Chennai Corporation Health Outpost for Women and Children at Velacheri ; Dr. P V Rao residential school for orphaned boys ;
Dhandeeshwarar Trust Medical dispensary at Velacheri ; National Polio Plus programme ; Vocational Training for 10 High School Passouts.
The club also executes unique Rotary District Level projects like "Project-Schools to Smiles", "Project-Selvi", "Project -Blossom", etc.
In addition, at applicable occasions, the club also assists individuals/ NGOs in terms of financial support.
The Club also has a separate Charitable Trust – “The Rotary Club of Madras Marina Trust”, to channel the charitable projects. Donations to this Trust is eligible for Income Tax exemption under Section 80G of the Indian Income Tax Act.
We meet at Alumni Club at 7:00 pm every Tuesday. The meeting concludes with an excellent Fellowship with camaraderie and cocktails, followed by dinner. Though the members come from diverse sections of society, the Club boasts of a very close-knit group of like minded citizens, with a common goal of “Service above Self”. With experts in management as part of our member profile, the club is managed very professionally and with true democratic principles.
In addition to being significantly involved in helping Society, members also enjoy Rotary by having regular Family Meets, listening to Speakers on diverse and interesting Subjects, programmes for Annes and Annets, Tours for recreation and relaxation, Factory and other educational Visits, Annets Talent shows, sporting events, etc.
